Origin and category

Koroneiki olives, hand-picked in Messenia. Measured acidity between 0.2 and 0.3 g/L, well below the 0.8 g/100g threshold that defines the "extra virgin" category — see our FAQ for the detail of this classification.

The taste

A bold profile: herbaceous aromas, a hint of bitterness and a light bite on the finish, typical of strong oils. The opposite of the mild, round oils most often found in supermarkets.

Use

This oil works both raw (dressing salads, dipping bread, drizzled over grilled vegetables) and cooked, in a pan or in the oven. Its bold character doesn't fade next to other ingredients in a dish.

Mandatory information for a food product (EU regulation 1169/2011, article 9):

• Legal name: extra virgin olive oil.
• Net quantity: 3 litres or 6 litres depending on the format chosen.
• Origin: Messenia, south-west Peloponnese (Greece).
• Storage: keep away from light and heat, between 14 and 18°C. The box naturally protects the oil from air and light down to the last drop; once opened, we recommend using it within 12 months.
• Best-before date: printed on the box label.
• Shipping timeframe: communicated by email once your order is confirmed.

Why this price, compared to a supermarket oil?

Three concrete reasons: a hand-picked rather than mechanised harvest, a modest production (8,000 to 12,000 litres a year on the estate, against much larger volumes for a mass-market brand), and a direct sale from the producer we distribute, with no wholesale middleman. Most entry-level supermarket oils are also blends of oils from several countries, which isn't the case here: a single origin, a single estate.

Delivery and pickup

Delivery across France and 8 other European countries (Germany, Austria, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal): €2/kg, free within the Bouches-du-Rhône department.
